How to use this chart
- Give every child the same list of chores at first, and change individual rows by printing separate charts later if the ages are far apart. A shared list is easier to explain than three different ones.
- Keep the blocks on one page for children who can tick for themselves. The page holds up to three children and five chores, which is the largest layout that still leaves room to write in each box.
- Decide in advance whether the reward is for each child or for the whole family. The family reward line suits a shared goal, such as everyone finishing their rows by Friday.
- If one child is much younger, shorten that child's block by printing a second chart with fewer chores and cutting it out, or tick the younger child's boxes together with them.
- Hang it somewhere all the children pass, such as the kitchen or the hall, so each child sees the others' rows and the page works as a shared reminder rather than a private list.
Questions
Can I put four children on it?
Not on this page. Three blocks with five chores each is the most that fits a sheet of Letter or A4 and still leaves boxes large enough to tick. For a larger family use the rotation chart.
Do all children have to do the same chores?
On this chart, yes: the chores are shared by all blocks. If you want different chores, make a chart for each child with the weekly chart for kids.
What if I only have two children?
Delete the third name. The page then shows two blocks and gives each a little more room.
Are the names stored anywhere?
Only in your browser, so the chart is ready when you come back. They are not sent to a server.
